Major Cycline Computer Manufacturers and Compatibility with GoPro Operations

Garmin Edge Series => Not supported

As of May 2024, the Garmin Edge series, which is the most popular cycling computer series in the World, does not support GoPro operations.

Wahoo ELEMNT Series => Supported

The Wahoo cycle computer series "ELEMNT" supports GoPro operations directly from the cycle computer.

GoPro Operations Available with Wahoo Cycle Computers

With the Wahoo ELEMNT, you can perform the following GoPro operations:

1. Change shooting modes
2. Start/stop recording and take photos
3. Switch camera between standby, sleep, and off modes

Setting it up is straightforward:

1. Update the compatible ELEMNT cycle computer to the latest firmware.
2. Update the ELEMNT app to the latest version.
3. Pair your GoPro with the ELEMNT device.

With these steps completed, a "GoPro Control" page will be created on your ELEMNT cycle computer, allowing you to control your GoPro directly from the cycle computer.

Please note that only one GoPro can be controlled at a time from the ELEMNT cycle computer. While it's possible to pair multiple GoPro cameras with the ELEMNT device, only one of them can be connected and controlled at any given time.

List of Wahoo Cycle Computers Compatible with GoPro Operations

Here is the list of Wahoo cycle computers that support GoPro operations¹:

※ Hero11 Mini not supported

As of May 2024, only two current models, the Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM v2 and Wahoo ELEMNT BOLT v2, support GoPro operations.

Note that the compatible GoPro models are those from HERO9 and later, excluding the Hero11 Mini.

This means that only relatively recent models of both the ELEMNT series and the GoPro series are compatible with GoPro operations.

bryton Rider Series => Not Supported

As of May 2024, the popular and affordable Bryton Rider series of cycle computers does not support GoPro operations.
